Miranda Lambert Was Happy to Take ‘Risk’ With Whirlwind Marriage

Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin's relationship moved fast, but the singer has no regrets.

In an interview with People magazine, Lambert opened up about her whirlwind romance with McLoughlin, a former NYPD officer. The couple met in November 2018 and were married two months later.

“I fell in love with him after the first 24 hours that I knew him,” Lambert said. “I knew that I was going to marry him after 24 hours.”

The singer admitted that she was hesitant to get married again after her divorce from Blake Shelton in 2015, but she said that McLoughlin made her feel safe and loved.

“I had gotten to a place where I felt like I was never going to find love again,” Lambert said. “And then I met Brendan, and it’s like, ‘Oh, wow, this is real.’ I was so happy to take that risk.”

The couple has been married for almost two years, and Lambert said that they are still very much in love.

“He's my best friend,” Lambert said. “He's the one person I can always count on, and he makes me laugh every single day.”

Lambert's new album, Wildcard, is set to be released on November 1. The album includes a song called “Bluebird,” which is about her relationship with McLoughlin.

“I wrote ‘Bluebird’ about Brendan,” Lambert said. “It's about how he makes me feel safe and loved.”
